About Terry Lee

Terry Lee is a highly experienced former mathematics teacher and head teacher, having taught in New Zealand (Wairoa College, Christchurch Girls High School) and NSW (Cabramatta High School, Sir Joseph Banks High School, St Mary's Senior High School, and Newington College). He also served as a senior HSC marker across all levels, from General Mathematics to Mathematics Extension 2. Drawing from his extensive experience as a marker, he incorporated his understanding of examination standards into his books, ensuring his questions align with the HSC examinations. Crucially, he included those notoriously difficult problems often missing from other textbooks, offering unique, efficient methods, and time-saving strategies to approach them. Further demonstrating his commitment to education, Terry successfully ran Extension 1 and Extension 2 seminars for teachers and students for thirteen years, from 2003 to 2016 (with a break in 2008), prior to his retirement. His seminal work, 'Advanced Mathematics', first released in 1990, has been reprinted 7 times and consistently voted the best 4-Unit (Extension 2 level) textbook.

Now retired, Terry has created this website to offer his HSC paper solutions for free downloads and to make his acclaimed books available for direct purchase. Teachers interested in class sets are encouraged to contact him for special discounts.
